We have been contacted by several supporters over the past 24 hours following reports locally that a deal has been agreed with two individuals to purchase the Football Club with an announcement reported to be imminent.
We remain in constant dialogue with the Club, and we can confirm that there is no deal in place and the Club continues to talk to a number of parties in relation to investment in the Club.
In doing so, we have reiterated to the Club that before any deal is agreed, we will require a formal meeting with any prospective owner. Following that meeting, as the leading shareholder in the Football Club, we will be asking Trust members for their approval. The Club have agreed to inform any prospective investor that this must happen before any sale of shares will take place.
