AGM review

The Dale Trust held their AGM in the Dale Bar on Saturday ahead of the home game v Leyton Orient.

There was a great turnout in the Dale Bar for the meeting with all suggesting that this had been the best attended AGM at any stage in the Trust’s history.

Trust Chair Colin Cavanah gave a brief review of all activities that have taken place over the past twelve months in terms of both the Club and the Dale Trust, and where we saw things stand for the Club at this moment in time following a Summer of turmoil. It was stated that there was likely to be an update from the Club with regards to the Share Issue in the next few days.

Dale Trust Director Murray Knight gave a talk on his role on the Board of RAFC, and how he has managed that role during the opening few months of his tenure and he urged members to contact him via email to info@daletrust.co.uk marked “FAO Murray Knight” should they have any issues regarding Dale.

Thanks were given to all the people who had supported both the Trust and the Club over the past few months, with a special message of thanks given to David Clough for his continued role to help safeguard the future of the club. Tribute was paid to Trust Member John Rowe, a regular at Trust AGM’s, who sadly passed away earlier in the week.

All Trust Board members were put up for re-election and were voted back in, and the three co-opted members were voted on to the Trust Board as full members. There is now 14 members on the Trust Board which is bigger than it has ever been.

Two resolutions were proposed:

  1. Any Trust vote at the Football Club’s AGM/EGM must be voted on by the Trust membership who are eligible on the date of the called meeting.
  2. Any sale of the Trust owned shares in Rochdale Association Football Club can only happen with the approval of 90% of voting Trust members in a ballot.

After discussion, the 2nd ballot was reworded as :

2. Any sale of the Trust owned shares in Rochdale Association Football Club can only happen with the approval of 90% of Trust voting members in a ballot with a minimum turn out of 60% of Trust members.

Both resolutions were passed by those voting in the room and via proxy.
