But what is a handyman service? A question we put to Steve Glover who runs SilverFlux. “Well imagine all the jobs that need doing but you either don’t know how, or just don’t have time, or you simply hate doing, well they are the jobs we do, and there are many of them as you will see from our list below”, “and no job is too small,” said Steve
“A lot of what we do is seasonal and we couple those jobs with maintenance work throughout the year, and often one job leads to another and it matters not how big or small it is if we can we will,” said Steve” An example is that at this time of year (March) we are often full of patio and decking maintenance, pressure washing and disinfecting for the coming summer, last year whilst cleaning and refurbishing a patio and decking the client asked if we could tidy a garden bed and make some plant holders, a quick look around and we saw some spare decking and it took no time to make some simple flower containers which were elegant but a simple job, killing two birds with stone if you like” The results were very pleasing later in the year!

Fencing repaired or replaced, always a job for the early months and one often required during the winter inclement months
Decking. along with patios laid and maintained, and throughout the year and especially pre-spring, Power Cleaning and Disinfection ready for the summer months
Flagging. Along with Patios all types of flagging undertaken either full areas or repairs
Jet washing. Though mentioned above other areas like north-facing wall which gather moss and lichen are power cleaned to remove any growth, this also goes for any other garden furniture item which needs a clean,
Garden tidy. We all like a nice garden but the chore of preparing and maintaining a tidy garden is not always top of the list. At SilverFlux, we tidy, clean and remove any debris, weeds and in general any dead plants and if needed fertilise and turn the topsoil ready for planting. And of course when winter sets in the chore of tidying the garden for the winter often get overlooked, but that’s where SilverFlux Handy Man Services can help.
Grass gutting. Lawns cut to clients request, either one-off or regular monthly cuts through the season and coupled with garden tidying lawns can be prepared for the season with raking and fertilising and end of growing season final cuts and fertilising for the next year
Guttering repair or replaced, or importantly cleaned out. Guttering is always something that gets “forgotten” yet when it fails it becomes a real menace, damp walls, water everywhere. We repair and install all types of guttering and downpipes BUT more importantly, we clean out gutters, removing the silt and waste that builds up, which often causes the damage in the first place. We offer a thorough cleaning service and removal of all silt with a full hose clean through
Electrical work
Sockets & light fitting changed
Outside security floodlights fitted or replaced, an essential in house safety.
Plugs wired, and all wiring checked visually.
Lamps or bulbs changed, Lamp holder replaced if damaged
Joinery work
Internal doors fitted or planed due to new carpet or flooring, painting and staining to match
Locks & handles changed, part locks changed, new barrels or full replacements, all work to meet top security needs.
