Walkie Talkie Podcast Episodes 7 and 8….entertaining and humorous.

Double bonus today as we feature two episodes from the walking football podcast team of Dave Brooks and Simon Atherfold. The latest episodes (episode 7 and 8) from the guys at the Walking Football podcast “Walkie Talkie” are now online at their YouTube channel. But you can also view the episodes below at the bottom of the article.

Sponsored by the Dale trust (see here), which provided the new equipment to facilitate its initiative, “Walkie Talkie” is presented by Dale’s own international walking footballer, David Brooks, and fellow footballer Simon Atherfold.

The podcasts have covered many aspects of the sport, including tactics and rules (of which there are many), and we have met some interesting people involved at the highest level of the sport.

Podcast 7 is a review of our recent guests and topics, but its main focus is Health and Wellbeing.

View HERE, or drop to the bottom of the page where we feature both podcasts in full.

Podcast 8 is a really good news story featuring Mick Tarpey, one that began with a grim prognosis for his future. With the help of the NHS and, more importantly, Mick’s incredible refusal to give up, he has beaten the disease diagnosed, and is back playing football. It is an inspiring story, one with humour, hope, and some smiles. This is worth the visit, an uplifting story

For the Daletrust, sponsoring David and Simon and the podcast, which is now proving to be extremely popular, was a no-brainer. The topics covered, the guests they bring, and the stories that develop all bring a sense of positivity, showing the benefits of sport not only on a person’s physical structure but also on mental health. Walking football is totally inclusive, and the Trust looks forward to sponsoring through the next season.

To contact the Walkie Talkie Podcast team for a chat, more details or help in finding a local team, then email David at  dabrooks@live.co.uk

If there are any problems, please send any questions to the Trust at info@daletrust.co.uk, where we will pass them on to David and Simon.
