Trust to welcome its Exile Members this coming Saturday.

This Saturday, March 7th, during our home game against Boston, we will host Dale Trust exiles at the COA, a well-loved event in the Trust’s annual calendar.

We invited Ian Goodwin, our Trust Director and Co-ordinator for the Exile members, to share some thoughts on the event and to announce the identity of our guest, a former player. Here is what he said.

As the day is an “Exile Members day”, we will be the official match sponsors and match ball sponsors for Saturday’s Boston United game.

There are over 200 Exiles in the Dale Trust and thirty-two of them will enjoy camaraderie a stadium tour and Scratch Catering’s excellent buffet before kick-off.

This year, there is an international flavour as Noel Micallef will have brought over a party of Maltese Exiles, so a special welcome is extended to Noel, Cleaven, Stephen, Alfred and Wallace.

The hospitality box will be buzzing as Exiles chat with Willie Burns (seen here with Keith Hicks). Willie is a former player and a guest for the day. We will also be joined by current directors and players who always join in with the fun.

Jim McNulty always makes an appearance, which is greatly appreciated by all attendees, and the Trust and club always pull out all the stops to make this a truly special occasion.

Everyone will be hoping to preserve that remarkable Exiles home record of fifteen matches unbeaten and counting. The full record (see HERE) since 2010 is: played 15, won 7, drawn 8, against notable opponents such as Ipswich Town, Sheffield United and Portsmouth.  Devante Rodney has scored in the last three Exiles fixtures, so here’s hoping he finds the back of the net again on Saturday.

We will be running a feature on our website next week with a report on the event, where we will find out whether Ian’s reporting on past exiles events continues, i.e., we win again.
