Deserved Promotion For The Women’s Team

This is fantastic news for the women’s senior team. The Trust is very pleased that the promotion has been confirmed and wishes the team all the best for the upcoming season.

One of the Trust’s initiatives for the upcoming season is to support women’s football at the grassroots level. This news today is a great boost for what can be achieved, and we will support the teams as much as possible to help them reach their full potential.

“After confirmation from the FA, Rochdale AFC Women’s promotion application has been accepted and they will now compete in the North West Regional Women’s Football League Division One Central for the 2025/26 season.

Dale completed their second season in the GMWFL division in third place, coming within two points of the top of the table. Lee Atkinson’s side scored an impressive 92 goals which is 15 more than any other opponent and also went the whole campaign unbeaten at home.

Bolton Wanderers won the division last season and have been promoted to the Premier Division after securing 20 wins from 22 games. Blackpool and Hindley Juniors finished in the bottom two.

Three teams have now made the step up from the Greater Manchester League with Hyde United and Manchester Laces also moving up to Tier Six.
