And so the Exiles long unbeaten run ends. A decent fightback in the second half of course but few of us expected anything other than a defeat when Dale’s makeshift team conceded three goals in the first half hour. Result aside, the day was a success. The hospitality provided by our friends at AFC Wimbledon was once again first class. Special mention goes to Pietro Palladino a perfect link man at Kingsmeadow.
Twenty three of us were treated to table service as we dined before the match. David Bottomley, himself a former Exile, joined us. The age range was 6 (Freddie Brockerton-Baker) to 88 (Arnold Wood) and we had a good collection of Mums and Lads; Dads and Lads; three generations from one family and Dale related conversation flowed feely.

Feedback has again been positive and we hope to repeat next year. AFC Wimbledon are heading back to Plough Lane in 2020, so if we are still in the same division next season and the fixtures pan out, we shall certainly look at that as an option.
