Trust Week: Why join?

So we’ve spent the last few days detailing the work that we do on the Trust, so why join?

Last year, over 500 supporters joined the Trust – our highest figure for a number of years. After all, the more members that we have, the more work we can do on your behalf to benefit the supporters, the Club and the community.

By signing up to the Trust, you’ll be joining an organisation that will represent your interests. We’ve tried to make a real effort in the past two seasons to improve our communication with members both through the website and the newsletters – and we’re hoping to improve the way we communicate on Social Media this next season as a direct result of member feedback.

But we want that communication to be a two way street. By becoming a member, we want you to be part of something. We want you to feel part of the Trust rather than being just a case of handing a tenner over for a shiny plastic card.

We want to hear from you, hence why we stick our email address info@daletrust.co.uk all over the place. Whether it be something the Trust is doing, something that happens or maybe just a golden idea which will benefit the Club and the supporters. Let’s face it, we’ve all got a mutual love of Rochdale AFC and the Trust has a firm commitment to improve the lot of both the supporters and the Club.

Exclusive member benefits:

  • You get a newsletter emailed out at the start of every month that details what the Trust has been up to and what is coming up. A Trust survey suggested that members found this newsletter to be the best way of keeping up to speed with Trust activities.
  • Trust members are given the opportunity to ask questions to the Dale board. The Trust will meet with the Board of Directors twice a year, and in the build up to that will invite questions from Trust members. We conduct regular meetings with the club as well where we will convey the opinion of the members to them.
  • You get discounts for Trust activities. Whilst many of our activities are free of charge, last year the Curry Night was £22 for members and £24 for non-members. Similar discounts will be offered for all paid events.
  • You get the chance to win a Player’s Shirt. Each month, we do a poll to find the Player of the Month, and one person drawn at random makes the presentation to the winning player and gets that player’s shirt, and a copy of the plaque presented. When we do the draw, we will often have to draw several times before we get a Trust member
  • The Trust will have three Matchball Sponsorships throughout the season wherein six Trust members will join us and a Dale legend for hospitality before the game and tickets to the game. The Trust members will be selected randomly from the membership list.
  • Trust members are offered discounts at a number of local businesses. You can save far in excess of your £10 membership fee by taking advantage of our Friends of the Trust.
  • Members get to decide who is on the Trust Committee. When needed, elections are held to fill the positions on the Trust Committee which gives members to make real changes if they feel.

Membership of the Trust is just £10 for the 2019-20 season. Join hundreds of other Dale supporters by becoming a member either online or by visiting the Trust desk before any Saturday home game.
