LADIES UNDER 15’s REPORT

The girls are due to be taking part in the North Manchester Girls Under 15’s Cup Saturday morning after beating Failsworth Girls 3-1 last Saturday in the semi finals with goal by Emma Flynn, Moet Griffiths and Olivia Storto.

This has been just reward for their progress from the start of the season as a newly formed team with several players never having played structured football before plus several of the squad playing in an older age group.

I must admit it’s been a struggle against some of our opponents who have been competing for 4/5 years but the commitment and enthusiasm never fails to amaze me and congratulations goes to Jordan and James for their efforts plus Siobhan who is seen as an ideal role model with her playing achievements at Rochdale and Huddersfield Ladies.

As you are probably well aware this as all come about as a result of the FA/Football League Trust’s Female Football Development Programme co-ordinated by Nicol Meredith, which locally as seen over 180 girls aged 14+ taking part in our football coaching sessions.
Plans are to develop the Club further with three age groups identified for next season and eventually a thriving set up delivering football for under 8’s – open age.
