Covid Questions answered

There were a number of common questions asked during our Covid survey. We have spoken to the Club ahead of this weekend’s game with Scunthorpe United and got answers to your questions.

Will Face Masks be compulsory / recommended inside the stadium?

As per current Government guidelines, they will not be compulsory. However, we encourage supporters to make use of all Covid mitigations, face masks included, when in crowded areas such as concourses. If the Government guidelines alter at any stage, we will be required to follow any updates.

Is it possible to have an area of the ground set aside for social distancing?

This has been discussed. While it would be desirable to do so, there are some issues with practicality. For example, if we were to use one block of Wilbutts Lane, it’s likely that this would require an amendment to our Safety Certificate due to segregation being changed, as and such, would require sign off from the Council, SAG, and other bodies. It’s not a ‘no’ at the present time, but we need to put some further thought into it.

Will kiosks be open for the League games?

Yes. A new caterer is in place, and there will be some media coverage of this prior to the weekend.

Are there any plans for vaccinations required by the EFL?

Assuming you are alluding to vaccine passports or equivalent here. If so, we haven’t had anything definite from The EFL as yet. The most likely outcome at the time of writing appears to be that they will be required at major sporting events, but only those that you could truly say are mass gatherings, for example, 20,000 crowd +. Therefore, very unlikely to have any effect on us this season in my opinion, in league games at least. Of course, this could change at any time.

Will there be any additional rules in place eg at the bars?

Not as far as I’m aware, although we of course encourage everyone to use their common sense.

How often will common touch points eg turnstiles be cleaned?

I will double check this, but my understanding is that it will be before and after each fixture, rather than during, given the recent relaxation in protocols.

Can the Club provide any covid requirements for away grounds?
Potentially, however we wouldn’t typically receive these until a few days before each fixture, and the documentation that we receive would normally be in relation to players and staff rather than supporters. We can ask the question though.
