George Brigham
Trust Chair

My life sentence began when I was introduced as a primary schoolboy to Rochdale by my Grandad.

More recently, having witnessed up close the sheer volume and quality of work carried out by the Trust board, I volunteered my services in the hope of continuing the work of ensuring accountability and transparency of club custodians when dealing with all stakeholders, especially the fan base.

Favourite player is most likely Pat McCourt,, and memorable goal, among a whole host of beauties, is when a right back with a school exam the next day scored our equaliser at Old Trafford against a team containing the world's most expensive player.

I've been on the Dale Trust board since its inception
back in January 2004 and nearly 20 years I'm bizarrely still here (filling various roles - even incl. chairman for a couple of season's). Going into 2023-24 season, I will be continuing as Trust membership officer and hoping we can smash the membership record (21/22- 1,306) or the current season.
Favourite Player - Lyndon Simmonds
Favourite Goal - Steve O'Shaughnessy v Northampton 27.09.90 (FA Cup 4th Round)

Finance Officer
Ian Goodwin
Ian was recruited in 2018 specifically as the Trust’s co-ordinator for Exiles. Now based in Sheffield, Ian has supported the Dale since the early 1960s and saw the 1st leg of the League Cup final against Norwich in 1962. He remembers well the first promotion season in 1968/69 and enjoyed writing about those times for the match programmes for the 50th anniversary. He aims to create a sense of belonging among a dispersed membership of over 300 by sending Exile newsletters and organising Exile catch-ups home and away. He takes baffled astonishment at Dale's unbeaten run at the annual reunion of Exiles at the Crown Oil Arena. The threat of Covid has meant he has been absent from the stands in recent times but he intends to be back in 2023/24.
Charlie Stansfield
Long term supporter since the early 90s, home and away, Charlie is instantly recognisable for her hair! She lives and works in Rochdale as a careers adviser and is passionate about young people getting the chance they deserve. Keen to develop the communication from the club and to improve the match day experience for all, she also assists with welfare issues. Favourite players are Peter Ward and Chris Dagnall and for playing reasons Craig Dawson
Dave Earnshaw
As a lifelong fan working locally in Children’s Social Care, I want the best for Rochdale Football Club both on and off the pitch to try and ensure that fans get the best match day experience possible (Though I can’t influence the result if only I could, I do often try which is not always appreciated by the manager or the board of directors. To this end I firmly believe that this doesn’t just start on match days, but every day, every day fans enquire or come into contact with club, be it through social media, internet or face to face. To this end I believe this can only be done with effective robust communication and ensuring the Trust builds on its work with the club and to try and drive the club to communicate more with the fan base in general. I believe effective communication increases awareness of all club and trust activities and goes to make you, the Dale Fan, more informed, and for you to have the best possible experience.

Favourite player will test peoples memory with it being Bobby Hoy who led the wing for The Dale late 70;s early 80s

Most memorable goal for me is Ian Henderson when he scored against Leeds in the FA Cup in 2014 what a game, what a goal!
Bob Morrisey

Bob is the Trust's welfare officer and web editor.
Favourite Player. Hmm hard to pin point, Reg Jenkins in his day was awesome, recent times, then it has to be Ian Henderson (His goal against Leeds in the cup was sublime) but for sheer commitment, passion and leadership it has to be Gary Jones, a leader of men and a man who set the standards of commitment needed to be winners, something rarely seen in recent times
Keith Hicks
Been involved at Rochdale AFC for over 35 years as a player for two seasons before retiring through injury leading to employment as Community Trust Manager but also involved at the Club as Centre of Excellence Director, Youth Team Assistant Manager and First Team Scout, highlights being watching seven players from the Centre of Excellence/Youth Team in the squad for the FA Cup 5th Round match v Wolverhampton Wanderers plus witnessing players like Jamie Allen, Ethan Brierley, Craig Dawson, Fabio Tavares coming through Community sessions.

Favourite ex-player would have to be Reg Jenkins, absolute legend and who I had the pleasure to play against in the 1970’s but more recently Craig Dawson, who attended Community Trust soccer schools as a youngster.
