Trust meeting report: 22.08

The Trust committee met on Tuesday evening for their monthly meeting.

Membership stands at 355 for the new season, of which 104 are exiles. As previously reported, this has surpassed last season’s figure already and is continuing to rise by the day. It is hoped that we can 500 members can be achieved before the end of the season. Within the Trust movement, a Trust is said to be doing well if it has 10% of the average home attendance as its membership.

The Trust expressed its gratitude to Trust committee member Dennis Haywood who purchased a season ticket for use by the Trust. This season ticket has been added to the season tickets purchased by the club’s directors to be used by various groups on matchdays. This was taken advantage of by RMBH for the home game with Scunthorpe last week.

A report was made of discussions between the Trust and the club regarding members’ concerns over access to the Dale Bar at half time during the Scunthorpe game. A statement has already been put on the Trust website with a further statement to follow on the club website regarding future use.

Football in the Community reported back on their activities during the Summer and on matchdays, and informed the committee that the 30th anniversary of Football in the Community is coming up.

With the matchball sponsorship for the Bury game approaching, plans were made for this game and future games. Shaun Reid will be our guest for this weekend’s match, with plans now being made for the sponsorships of the Wigan and Bradford fixtures.

Plans are starting to be formulated for a month long fundraiser for Rochdale Foodbank that will incorporate the Rochdale 10k and the walk to Oldham (supporters have chosen this game in an online poll as the match they wish to use for sponsorship). The Foodbank is being approached and plans are being put into place.

The Trust have agreed to sponsor a race and make a donation for a forthcoming family charity night which has affected Trust members. Tickets for this event will be available at the Trust desk. More details on this will be available on the Trust website next week.

Places are going well for the forthcoming Footgolf competition. Approximately half the places have been taken so far, and any supporter wanting to get involved are encouraged to book their place as soon as possible.

Members have brought Coach Travel by the club to our attention. The Trust are contacting the club to make them aware of the concerns raised and travel will be monitored over the next few weeks.

Our next meeting will take place on Wednesday 20th September. As always, if there is anything you would like to discuss, please email the Trust at info@daletrust.co.uk
