Walkers raise £2,523.14

Over two and a half thousand pounds has been raised for charity following a sponsored walk to Boundary Park earlier this year.

The walk , organised by the club and the Dale Trust, saw close to seventy walkers make the journey from the Crown Oil Arena to Oldham’s Boundary Park before the derby clash between the two teams in April.

The money raised through sponsorship and bucket collections on the date will be split three ways, with each receiving £841.05. The three charities are:

Prostate Cancer – this is the most common form of cancer amongst males in the UK, and will effect 1 in 8 men during their lifetime. The charity is the official partner of the EFL, with the logo in every player’s shirt within the league.

Bloodwise – the cancer charity that was adopted by Joe Thompson as his chosen charity during his recent successful battle against the disease.

Team Ellis – fundraising for the former Rochdale academy player Ellis Robinson who suffered a horrific spinal injury whilst training last year.
