Trust Board Meeting

The Dale Trust held its latest monthly meeting on Monday 7th January. Here is a brief report from the evening.

The recent events that have taken place in the Ratcliffe Bars were discussed, and it was noted that numbers of supporters using the bars appeared to be rising, especially before the Cheltenham game when the Trust held a Christmas event. We were hoping to have some feedback from the club about the evening and look forward to hearing their views. In forthcoming weeks we’ll also look to contact other clubs’ supporters groups to invite them to use the Ratcliffe Bars pre- match.

Keith Hicks discussed the work Football in the Community have been doing and he was very pleased with the numbers who have turned up for Soccer Schools over Christmas. It was also mentioned that the trial using Willbutts Lane for schools to use has gone well, with children who have received coaching and visits from players then attending a game at the club.

Discussions were held around a possible meal at Easter as in recent years the Trust’s Chinese and Curry nights have always been popular events. It is hoped that this can be held in the Ratcliffe Bars at Spotland this year, and plans were made to look into catering and possible speakers for the evening.

The End of Season Awards night will again be something for the Trust to help with organising and it was agreed to try and emphasise a family-centric atmosphere, any ideas on what fans might like to see take place on the evening will be welcome! This holds true for anything else, please let us know.

We will be looking to hold another meeting with the club’s directors in the next few weeks, with subjects like season tickets being on the agenda. If you are a Trust member and would like to pose a question to the club, please email daletrustquestions@ yahoo.com
