Remembrance day 9/11/- Remembrance Game 15/11

For most, Sunday 9th November is an important day as it is remembrance day in the UK.

A day for reflection and of thanks to those that cannot be thanked in person , as they are amongst the many who have given their lives in service.
Emanating from the awful toll the First World War had on the serving personnel and right through to today, when the pain of loss never really diminishes, Remembrance Day is day when memories and thanks can be unified and shared.
Wherever you are, be it over earth, land or sea, it’s a time to remember and give thanks to the sacrifices made.
To this end our home match against Aldershot Town on 15th November (3.03pm kick-off) will be the clubs dedicated remembrance fixture.

The club is asking fans, should they want, to send in photos of their military heroes, past or present which will be displayed on the big screen throughout the day. People can send a photo of themselves, a family member or a friend who has or is currently serving in the military.

Photos need to be received by Wednesday 12th November to the following email address: community@rochdaleafc.co.uk. Otherwise, you can call into the Community Trust office where physical pictures can be scanned.

The fixture will feature a pre-match ceremony, as we are joined by members from across our armed forces community, from cadets to veterans.

Wreaths will be laid followed by a period of reflection, as we remember all of those who have fallen in wars and conflicts as well as say thanks to all of those who have or who are currently serving across all branches of the military.
