For most of us, a long walk is when we stumble from the Litten Tree to Koko’s at 2am, so walking sixteen miles up and down the hills past Owd Betts might possibly kill us. Even the getting up to be at the club at 7-30 am might push us over the edge.
But on Saturday 16th March, James Appleton, David Chaffey, Remi Chatburn, Dennis Hoyle and Iain Murray will be making the long journey from Rochdale AFC to Accrington Stanley by foot ahead of the Dale’s game against Accy that afternoon.
The money we are raising is going towards the new 5-a-side facility at the back of the Pearl Street Stand. The current pitch is in a state that’s worse than the one we’ll be in when we get to Accy so there’s no doubting that it needs replacing urgently. The new one will make a massive difference to the work that they club do in the Community.
