The State of The Pitch. An Important Message from Jamie Willoughby

Following the recent postponement of our match against Scunthorpe there has been much comment on various social platforms, indeed many Trust members have aired their various opinions all with passion and some with disappointment.

The Trust as CAB board members received an informal statement from Jamie Willoughby who besides being a club director also is a member of the ownership group.

Jamie has given permission for this to be aired publicly amongst the members and fan base. We include the message in its entirety.

I wanted to drop a quick note regarding the pitch. One of the main reasons the CAB was set up was to improve communication between the Club and its supporters and whilst we are not in a position to issue a formal statement at this stage, I wanted to provide a more informal update via this forum (which you should feel free to share on the Fan Forum or elsewhere).

My main message is to reassure all fans that this issue has the 100% focus of the Club, the board and the ownership group. There has understandably been much speculation amongst fans about what action should or could be taken at this point. We are looking at all available options. Some of the more extreme options have significant technical, logistical and/or regulatory challenges associated with them (and in some cases all three of these!) but we are not ruling anything out.

We are working through all of the possibilities with the various 3rd parties involved to assess feasibility. If we consider that any of the options are feasible / deliverable and will materially improve our position, we have the support of the majority ownership group to proceed with them.

In the meantime, we continue to carry out remedial work to the pitch and manage the current situation as best we can.

I will keep you all updated and we will publish a formal statement once we have clarity on what options are available to us and are actually deliverable – we are hesitant to do so before we are in that position.

All the best

Jamie
