“Initially, the Trust regarded the viability of providing a coach for the trip to Truro, returning the same day or returning on the Sunday, as unviable, with prospective passenger numbers resulting in a significant shortfall in revenue, despite the subsidy kindly provided by the Ogden Family. We then informed the Coach company that we would not be making the trip. Since then, we have received interest from fans expressing an interest in the coach option to review the situation.
As always, the viability relies not on the expression of interest, but on those interested enough to pay prior to us renewing the intention to book and, as always, pay the coach operator in advance of the trip taking place. This trip, due to its nature in terms of travelling distance and cost is entirely different.
We posted details of the initial cost per head and numbers of passengers to prove viability to provide the service, and, since then, we have reviewed the situation with the coach operator and are now able to offer the following pricing structure, which may prove of interest and establish a viability situation more easily.
Final numbers booked and paid – 25 -price per head £70
Final numbers booked and paid – 27 -price per head £65
Final numbers booked and paid – 29 -price per head £60
Final numbers booked and paid – 32 -price per head £55
Final numbers booked and paid – 35 -price per head £50
To initially confirm the trip as viable, the cost per head charged would be £70, with 25 travelling. With the price reducing if and when each trigger point is achieved. Any resultant difference in price will be credited to each passenger after the trip has been made. As the coach operator requires payment one week prior to the travel date of the 13th September, bookings will need to be made – and paid – by the 6th of September for the order for the coach by the Trust to be processed.
Currently, the initial target of 25 booked and paid participants will determine whether the trip proceeds.
