Flags go limp, without their pole!

What a fantastic opening day! There was so much excitement in the air, and we witnessed some great football on display. We also saw some interesting refereeing decisions. However, what truly made the day special was the incredible atmosphere created by our fantastic fans. Your high spirits were contagious!
A big shoutout to our sister organisation, DALE 1907, for their fantastic flags initiative. It added a creative touch to the opening day at the COA!

We kindly request the return of some poles from Dale 1907, as no one wants a limp flag! As Matt Devine from DALE 1907 SAYS, “Flags need their poles and the poles need their flags!”

If you took a flag home on Saturday, please bring it back to us at the next game against Gateshead. We ask that you put it on a pole and wave it!
While we know they look great as scarves around your shoulders, we prefer to see them on their poles, being waved energetically to hopefully rattle and distract the opposition on game day!

So, if you’re given a flag to wave, then please look after it, wave it & then give it back all in one piece!

If you see someone breaking or pinching our flags….please ask them not to! It’s not nice, and remember, they belong to all of us, and the atmosphere won’t last for long if 250 flags become 25 flags!

Let’s all do our bit, please!
Saturday was great….. let’s make it the norm for every home game!”
