Jamie Willoughby On Training Ground & More

Do you want to learn about a future training facility?

It’s a saga that spans years, but perhaps that’s about to change!

Read on because there is more.

Transparency and communication have become the new DNA of the club, led by club director Jamie Willoughby, who, along with the Ogden Family, is part of the ownership group.

The club is undergoing significant changes, led internally by Managing Director Andy Duff and key members of the management team. Many believe these changes are positive, influencing not only the club’s operations but also enhancing the fan experience. These improvements will impact fans not just on match days, but in every aspect of their interaction with the club every day.

The Trust is actively engaged with the club daily, which is not unusual for us. We prioritise transparency and strive to keep our members informed about what is happening and what is being considered. We also highlight any issues we believe need attention. The atmosphere at the Dale fosters inclusiveness and a fan-centric approach, although commercialism and sustainability are increasingly becoming part of the conversation about change.

Recently, Jamie Willoughby, a leader in driving change, shared his views on a recent episode of the Dale Podcast. He emphasised the importance of inclusivity and the need for open and honest communication to bring about change. This perspective is truly refreshing; it’s hard to find such clear explanations at most clubs, but they are certainly present at Dale.

We did not have a picture of JW, so we “borrowed” this from Greg and the club media team.

Discussions around the club’s training ground include potential changes to its location, the club’s relationship with the local council, and whether £1.3 million is being spent on the pitch this season, all of which formed just part of Jamie’s podcast made this an essential listen, it will dispel rumours, it will give direction on the way the owners and management see Dale progressing over the next five years or so, and it also gives a chance to see Jamie deal with some of the challenging “On The Pitch” questions which the fan base and members alike have wanted to ask in recent times.

Thanks go to Jacob, Ryan, and Paul, who did not hesitate to ask questions that would make most politicians uncomfortable. Kudos to Jamie, who did not avoid any of them.
