SOS. Fans Knowledge Needed and Volunteers Required.

This is a time-driven request for help from Ryan Bradley at the Community Trust, which the DaleTrust Director for Fan Liaison, Dave Earnshaw, has been involved with. We hope members and fans can spread the word.

Building on the club’s heritage and the memorabilia associated with it, the CT has identified items that are currently not being utilised. After recent collaboration with the Community Trust, we have received an urgent request from Ryan (Bradley) that requires the expertise and involvement of our fans. The Trust will participate in this initiative, but we need to reach out to fans everywhere for their specialised assistance.

Here is what Ryan has to say.

“We have collated and sorted through some of the pictures that had been lying around and are looking to clean, upcycle, and re-display them. Some are broken, some we don’t know who they are, and some we don’t feel are right to display.

There are some common themes – Wembley, Iconic Players, International Players, and Spotland Down the Years (specialist fan knowledge is needed here!).

We have a variety of shirts, pictures, canvases, and some programs. We plan to create small displays for each theme, alongside a clip frame that includes a write-up or story.

These will go on the walls in the kiosk areas on either side of Our Spot – perfect for new visitors!

So, my request is for any volunteers who could come and help identify some of the pictures, teams, etc., and input into what goes up where – proper fans will know the stories and background better than we do.

Any volunteers to help sand and paint frames, or reframe some picture items, would also be appreciated. Scott has a men’s group that meets on a Monday morning, but they are winding down now.

Lastly, any other planned works volunteer in that area fits in around the project – ie we need people to hang things, but no point hanging them if the wall is being painted, etc.

Ryan. Community Trust.

Ryan has asked the Trust to put out a big shout for any volunteers who may be interested.   – We’ve got until the end of the month to get this boxed off and complete!

The heritage of the club, represented by these mementoes, deserves to be preserved. This is a unique opportunity to revive items that may have been overlooked, allowing everyone to enjoy them. Matt Cullen, the Trust’s Heritage Officer, will be involved from the Trust’s side, and we encourage as many people as possible to come forward.
