The Dale Supporters Trust were the Match Ball Sponsors for the rearranged game against Fleetwood, played on Tuesday 23 February. Guests of the Trust drawn to share the event were Julian Holyle, Dave Chaffey and David Harris, who, with their guests, enjoyed the pre-match meal in the form of a Tapas, and the game, the result of which was a pleasing win. After the game, the presentation of the Match Ball sponsorship plaque was made to the group of guests, minus Dave Chaffey and his guest, who had an early start for work the next day, and, due to a lack of sponsor due to the game having to be rearranged, the choice of Man of the Match was decided by the Trust guests, who chose the worthy winner, Ashley Eastham. Julian and his wife, on behalf of the guests, then presented Ashley with his well-deserved bottle of Champagne.
Saturday, 12 March is the date of the Trust’s final Match Ball Sponsorship events, of which we have three per season, and the fact that our opponents are Bury, makes for an entertaining and enjoyable experience for the lucky members already drawn to be the guests of the Trust. The day consists of a pre-match meal in the main lounge, a complimentary programme, match tickets for the game, and admission to the lounge after the game for the presentations of the commemorative sponsorship plaque to the group. In addition, the day coincides with the Trust recognising the Player of the Month for February, and John Rowe is the Trust member who voted for the winning player drawn to present the award, who will receive a copy of the plaque presented and his top, both signed by the winning player.
