Dale in the Community Update

Here’s the latest from Keith and the Team.

Happy New Year to everybody, especially to the players of Rochdale AFC, who have been extremely busy over the holiday period and deserve some free time to themselves with family.

MASCOTS

Alex White

Today we welcome Alex White to Spotland for his special day out.

Alex is nine years old, lives in Norden and goes to St Vincent’s Primary School.

He plays in goal for Pennine Juniors Under 10’s.

His two favourite teams are obviously Rochdale but also Manchester United with favourite Dale player being Ian Henderson

For the match against Crewe Alexandra, we should have been entertaining Olivia Grace

callum and olivia2Powell and Callum Murray, Callum being over here on holiday from Australia but unfortunately as we all know, it was postponed due to the awful weather.

However, they were invited to watch a training session later in the week before he flew back home. Olivia hopefully will be able to come to the re-scheduled game in February.

HELPING TO KEEP ROCHDALE MINDS HEALTHY

A team from Healthy Minds Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale, will be at Spotland today giving out information and will be available to talk to people at half-time and at the end of the match, if anyone would like an informal chat about mental health issues affecting them or someone they know.

Healthy Minds is a free, confidential NHS service that provides a range of treatment and support options for people struggling to cope with low mood, stress, anxiety, feelings of hopelessness, depression and many more of the common mental health problems that up to one in four people will experience at some point in their life time.

The service is delivered by a range of professionals, including Therapists and Counsellors with support options including online self-help courses, group workshops and 1-2-1 therapy sessions, depending on individual need.

The service is available to anyone aged 16 or over living in Rochdale, Bury, Oldham, Stockport, Tameside and Glossop.

Patients can self-refer online at www.penninecare.nhs.uk/healthyminds or by calling their local team, contact details can be found on the website.

Referrals can also be made by GPs and other healthcare professionals on a person’s behalf.

ROCHDALE AFC LADIES XMAS PARTYIMG_2699

We all had a fabulous time on the Sunday before Christmas, raising over £500 for the Club.

Everybody deserves a mention for making it a day to remember, especially Louise, Donna, Tracey and Jo for organising the party plus DJ Jules and Pippa for the music and of course, Santa and Junior Desmond for taking time of their busy schedule to entertain the girls and boys.
Looking forward to next year’s already!!!!!!!

See you all next Saturday when Fleetwood Town visit Spotland
