Board Meeting Report

Here’s a brief write up following Monday’s Board meeting.

We had an update on charity presentations for Springhill Hospice and Rochdale Moorland Children’s home, these will be done on Saturday with £750 going to Springhill Hospice and £310 going to Rochdale Moorland Children’s Home. A great amount for both charities highlighting the great work our members do for our local community, thanks for your support and help!

We discussed the Trust desk in the Dale Bar and the rota for the coming weeks, we aim to have a min of two representatives behind the desk and more than that for busy times. We’ve been doing match cards raising money for the Study Centre but for the next few weeks we’ll be selling Tricast squares with a chance to win £100 in association with our forth coming Race Night.

Membership numbers continues to rise (but at the time of writing I don’t have the numbers), we have had an increase in Exiles with more joining every day in order to attend the forth coming exiles day, we have also had confirmation from the Supporters Team that the squad will be renewing their membership. That’s great news as we hope to continue our relationship with the supporters team and assist where we can (although maybe not on the pitch), you can find out more on the Supporters Team and their belting recent last Saturday here.

We had an update regarding our Friends of the Trust scheme, this continues to be a great benefit to members and is currently going through a slight revamp. We have a couple of new businesses looking to sign up and a couple of business deciding not to continue or have retired, a big thanks to everyone involved, look out for more info on this when the re-jigging has been completed.

We discussed our work with the club, our fund raising for the new Study Centre has been slow, but with events booked in and exciting events being planned we hope to get things moving with this. We continue to have a page in the match day programme (when the person responsible remembers to send out the info) so thanks to Mark Wilbraham for his assistance.

Further to our work with the club we can confirm our next meeting with the club directors has been booked for 21st March, please send any questions you have to us and we’ll present our members questions to the directors.

December’s Player of the Month was Ian Henderson, the presentation took place on Saturday, don’t forget as a member, if you vote for the player of the month you have a chance of making the presentation and winning a signed shirt!

This Saturday the Trust are Matchball Sponsors and 3 lucky members have been chosen to take part, that’s a pre match meal, programme, the match and a pass to the lounge post match for the presentations, again another great benefit of being a Trust Members.

Moving on we discussed our forthcoming and ‘in the planning process’ events. Our Race Night has been confirmed for Thursday 24th March in the Dale Bar all the details are here, it’s free entry and promises to be a great night. You can buy and name your horse to be in with a to win a cash prize and we also have a Tricast where a £1 square could net you £100! One of the planned events is lovely stuff, an absolute belter so we hope to have details on this in a month or two!

We have confirmed will be partnering Dale in the Community for a Sponsored Run or Walk to Oldham in March, further details to be announced.

We also have our Exiles Day in April, numbers are moving well and we have 8 ish places left all the details are here.

The Website and twitter feed are running smoothly, our email system now has an automatic email response so you know we’ve received it and we think we are pretty good in getting back to members, in turn we feel we are very approachable either via email or in person.

Prior to the meeting we received an email from one Trust member with a number of questions regarding pre match searches, we had a discussion about the questions and the clubs response and our response to the questions will be on the website in due course. If you have any questions about the Trust board, any burning issues etc. please contact us using info@daletrust.co.uk

Finally, we discussed a few on going topics and set a date for our next meeting which is 15th February 2016.

All the best
